I

commend you for considering therapy and being curious about a prospective therapist. For over ten years, I have worked with a broad spectrum of people navigating a range of concerns: addiction, abuse, anger management, anxiety, depression, body acceptance, boundaries, consent, gender identity, sexuality, and spirituality. I have provided individual, group, couples and family therapy in various settings, including residential treatment, hospitals, and prisons. I am grateful to be a part of NobleTree Therapy where I feel safe, supported and seen, while creating a similar space for those I work with.

As a trauma-informed and body-based therapist, I will look to our bodies for vital information and connection to our thoughts, emotions, and intuition. Utilizing multiple integrated modalities, I am grounded in Internal Family Systems, Narrative Therapy, and Systemic Family Therapy. I practice harm reduction and gender-affirming care in alignment with the Health at Every Size framework. Being trained as a Marriage and Family Therapist and an inter-religious chaplain, I specialize in addressing relational dynamics, ambiguous loss, religious trauma, spiritual abuse, identity development, and care-giver fatigue.

Speaking from personal experience, deconstructing my beliefs was a very painful process and for a long time I was grieving it alone. I didn’t want anyone to know the extent of my disillusionment and change. My entire upbringing and identity had revolved around religion. During my first time in seminary, I witnessed and experienced religious abuse by other classmates which catapulted me into investigating, evaluating, and adjusting my sense of self, spirituality, and relationships. These experiences evoked a lot of doubts and questions. Questions that spiraled me into a full-blown identity crisis. The Church was no longer a safe place for my spiritual exploration.

Therapy provided a non-judgmental space for me to heal from my trauma and empowered me to reclaim and reconstruct my belief system. Part of reclaiming my identity involved returning to a different seminary, one that was affirming of all genders and identities, and obtaining a Master of Divinity. Integrating therapy and spiritual exploration, I welcome questions and I will sit with you in the discomfort of uncertainty as we move toward trusting and listening to your intuition.

When I am not in the office you can find me hiking, spending time with friends and family, enjoying petting all the furry creatures, and on the search for an excellent garage sale or thrift store. I find connection with others and myself through nature, deep conversations, laughter, and creative expression.

Please reach out for a free consultation to see if we might be a good fit. I would be honored to co-create an individualized plan to address whatever brings you to therapy. I am currently being supervised by Kendra Synder, MA, LMFT, NCC as I pursue marriage and family licensure.
