Kendra Snyder, MA, LMFT, NCC (she/her) – Founder of NobleTree Therapy

Welcome to NobleTree Therapy. I’m glad you’re here. I’ve been practicing therapy for over 10 years. In that time I’ve had the honor of working with a lot of different people and areas of treatment in a variety of settings. I consider myself a body-based trauma therapist and am trained in EMDR. Integrative, depth, existential, and experiential therapy are what I practice. I use many modalities to support those I work with in therapy, including attachment, body-based/somatic, trauma-informed, emotionally focused, and relational therapy approaches.

My approach is somatic and depth-oriented. As a body-based therapist, I work with you on a somatic level to process the trauma and experiences that you’ve been through, in order to create increased safety and integrate your body, mind, and heart. Depth work is incorporated through the exploration of existential identity – helping you find your inner voice, identity, and making meaning out of your experiences. I use a variety of integrated therapy modalities to work with trauma of all kinds, as well as other areas of mental health.

I’m licensed to practice therapy both in Minnesota and Colorado. After working in community mental health, I started my own practice in Denver, CO which focused on attachment, identity, and trauma. After making the move to Saint Paul, MN in 2018, I reopened my practice, continuing to focus on attachment, identity, and trauma, as well as creativity, religious trauma, and spiritual abuse.

In addition to my therapy practice, I am one of the co-founders of the Reclamation Collective, a community advocacy organization that focuses on supporting those impacted by religious trauma, spiritual abuse, and adverse religious experiences.

One of my areas of expertise is supporting people who have been impacted by religious trauma and spiritual abuse. I am a survivor of both. Over a decade ago I experienced several traumatic events within my religious culture of origin. These experiences sparked a process of deconstruction, reclamation, and expansion to find my true, authentic self.

The experience of being in a conservative, fundamentalist religious system, as well as my journey of deconstruction and reclamation, have provided me with first-hand knowledge and understanding of the complexities related to adverse religious experiences. It is as a result of my own experience of healing, through therapy, exploration, and supportive relationships, that I have developed a deep passion for supporting others around religious trauma, spiritual abuse, and spiritual identity development as a trauma therapist.

My experience in therapy and as a survivor of religious trauma and spiritual abuse allows me to understand the language, complexity, and nuances of this type of work. Working with a provider who not only has knowledge of the culture, community, and language but deeply understands the multi-faceted and profound impacts of adverse religious experiences can be an asset in establishing safety and trust therapeutically.

Another area of expertise is in supporting adult adoptees and those who are a part of the adoption triad. Prior to providing therapy in private practice, I had the honor of working with adoptees through in-home family therapy, as well as working with the PASS Center– a group practice specializing in international and domestic adoption and trauma. In my work at NobleTree therapy, I support adoptees in their journey of introspection, exploration, search, or reclamation of various parts of their identity.

I identify as a creative. As an artist, potter, and musician, it’s important to me to hold space for creatives to explore their voice, craft, and ways to enhance self-expression. Creative expression can be impacted or limited by a variety of experiences and settings. However, finding ways to reclaim your creativity is possible.

I’m here to help you deepen, reclaim, and find greater freedom in your authentic expression.

If you’re ready to find your beautiful, noble self, connect to your intuition, or find greater freedom of self-expression, we’ll be a great fit.
